(Mia) Waldo: Hi my name is Mia, and I’m a senior at Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville, where I’m pursuing a degree in Integrative Studies with a focus on Environmental Science and Communications, along with a minor in Sociology. My passion lies in merging my love for the environment with my mission to improve living conditions for marginalized communities. I currently live in the St. Louis area, where Environmental Justice is a critical issue. For those unfamiliar, Environmental Justice refers to the disproportionate impact environmental hazards—such as pollution and climate change—have on marginalized populations. This blog is dedicated to raising awareness of Environmental Justice issues and debunking common environmental misconceptions.
